Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Since the 1st of December, I could feel the cold wind Christmas season brings. I have to take a hot shower, wear thicker clothes, not use the air-con, and wear a pair of socks while sleeping! And it’s not even snowing. Not that we have snow in my side of the world..it’s just freezing. So I bet the Soothing Herbal Heat Slippers will be ideal when I want comfortable warmth.

At first glance you’d think it’s a pair of baby shoes but this one’s for adults. The slippers come with removable herbal insert that can be stored inside a microwave when you want heat or the freezer when you need a little cold therapy. The slippers are made of sherpa fleece and has polyester soles that are non-slip. (more…)

Of all the technology that we keep hearing about these days, eBookreaders seem to be the things we hear most about. But no technology reaches its peak of recognition untill a major techno-giant launches one of its own right? Maybe that’s what Amazon’s new eBookReader would do to the market segment.

The Kindle, that it is officially known, was announced today. What does it have to offer? 30 hour battery life, direct download with Sprint ( no computer would be required) and weighs just 10.3 ounces. (more…)

R2-D2 Wireless Web Camera: For you lovers of the pigheaded superstar

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Star Wars definitely raked enough moolah at the box office. The man (or woman) behind it may have definitely gone from rags to riches, and more riches (that’s if he was ever in rags) long ago. It took over everything from clothes to upholstery, games to schoolbags, cartoons to music, and even to toilet covers…

It might not be new to have gadgets following the same trend. But this one’s definitely a cool blue delight. Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the super-successful series, this one is a reasonably good replica of the pig-headed R2-D2 in the form of a 628 x 528 pixel Wireless Web Camera.
R2 D2 Wireless Web camera
It can be managed completely by a remote control to turn it in whichever direction you like, and has got worldwide remote access capabilities which will allow you to have power over R2-D2’s movements and access the web camera from a laptop or a PC no matter which part of the world you’re at.

Apart from looking like a complete Star Wars theft-product (I say that coz I’d surely steal it if it was), this one has zoom, tilt and voice-recording teamed with 11 tracks and phrases from the original Star Wars series. Now that’s what I call a Sci-fi lover’s gateway to the world (or World Wide Web) ahem! (NiRa)
