The world’s biggest maker of mobile handsets, Finnland-based Nokia, is set to go head-to-head with Apples’s iTunes online music service by offering free music downloads to buyers of new Nokia phones with integrated music players. Some moneybags own the Audi and the iPhone, while others own either one. But then again, there is a third generation of fashionistas who will do it with a little more style. And it is for them indeed, that the Audi Phone (which you see up there) that the prototype is out. The handset is supposed to go with the concept car, acting as a combination key jumb, navigation unit, audio and video player, and interface for the car’s systems. It uses both wifi and UGMTS Communications to give you image capture via onboard digicams (more of a security feature) and also acts as a receiver for the car’s location-tracking device. (more…)

That metal thing that looks like a blob is not a part of the next Men in Black movie. But it doesn’t have to be a part of MIB, or any movie for that matter, for it to glean attention and raise a few eyebrows here and there. And why wouldn’t it? This aluminum-cum-fiberglass chair is set to fetch anywhere between $1.6 million to $2.4 million at the auction at Christie’s next month in London–making it the world’s most expensive chair by far.
The pricey metal-blob chair is being sold as a part of a European couple’s collection. Dubbed as the “Lockheed Lounge”, the futuristic chaise was created by an Aussie designer Marc Newson. The Sun states that Newson “had this image of a fluid aluminium form”. (more…)

Now, considering that Japan is soon to become synonymous with innovation and creativity with all the cool stuff that the Japanese intelligentsia keep coming up with day after day, it’s nothing but obvious that if real transformers existed, they had to be in Japan. Well, the fact is that it’s true, well, at least partly. The robot you see above, from a Japanese robotic competition, can actually transform from car mode to robot mode…cool init? It’s great to have a slice of a great movie in real life, and this one’s sure going to be something you dig as it’s of a movie that was as cool as it could get. Of course its as tiny as a robot could possibly be, but what would actually set this apart from being a regular, commercial or rather popular item is the lack of funding and of course the fact that something 10 times the size of this could not be cool, I guess just plain scary. While you’re still wondering what to do with the worn-out table fan that lies in your cupboard, some one out there is up to more innovative thinking. No offence to your creativity, but this guy, Terry Bacon, seems to have made something awesome out of an old Chevy V8 engine block. And the cool thing is that, that ‘something awesome’ is nothing other than a BBQ! Gasping huh? You see being innovative was not restricted to that guy in that techno-rich lab or someone at a USB company at Korea. (more…)

With an automobile biggie like Ford (more…)
