The Booksnap Scanner: Scanning at 500 pages an hour

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Anyone who’s worked at a startup library knows how painful it can be to scan all those new books everyday and keep track of everything that’s on the shelf. Flipping those thousands of pages are equivalent to more than any of the pennies that you’re paid for the task. Maybe the Booksnap scanner that you see up there would provide you the much needed releif. (more…)

Okay so we all know that a certain super portable and stylish Macbook Pro has been in the ‘ coming soon’ news items for a while now. But maybe the iPhone took over so much of the year, that we just haven’t been able to lay our hands on cooler things as yet. Looks like that’s scheduled to change now with the quite awaited ultra-light Macbook Pro to actually be available starting the coming January. (more…)

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

If you ever felt guilty about using your remote control and your cell phone as an excuse to stay in the couch indefinitely, here’s bad news for ya (and good news for your therapist): you can always be even lazier than ever before. Pushing the limit between laziness and plain sloth, here’s a gadget that will make your butt grow so big that even the pregnant version of J Lo will pale in comparison. With buttons large enough to be seen by Stevie Wonder through thick fog and the most basic of layouts, this clever dish-with-handles of a remote automatically mutes the TV with every incoming call and turns itself into a hands-free telephone (more…)

An Audi Phone: Is Apple listening?

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Some moneybags own the Audi and the iPhone, while others own either one. But then again, there is a third generation of fashionistas who will do it with a little more style. And it is for them indeed, that the Audi Phone (which you see up there) that the prototype is out. The handset is supposed to go with the concept car, acting as a combination key jumb, navigation unit, audio and video player, and interface for the car’s systems. It uses both wifi and UGMTS Communications to give you image capture via onboard digicams (more of a security feature) and also acts as a receiver for the car’s location-tracking device. (more…)

Soduku Playtime: For the love of numbers

Friday, September 28th, 2007

For those of you who have come to love the art of number crunching, the fun of it is as addictive as all the word games people like to play. Sure it isn’t exactly the most popular sport, but then again people from the field of numbers have known to get half their abilities from this game. Well, we can’t be sure about that, but the Soduku Challenge, sure sums up about 10,000 unqiue number games in one electronic hand-held portable game console. (more…)

Haier’s pocketripping laptop: Closer to prestige than rationality!

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Well, if you didn’t know Haier was a major brand in some parts of the world, I don’t blame you for it. Considering their very ‘limited’ marketing genius, it’s fine if you’ve missed it as a brand at all. Jokes apart, what you see up there is an offshoot of Haier’s Flybook line, and is just one of it’s many unaffordable creations, but then again, it comes packed with almost everything you could ask for.

Endowed with a Core Duo U2500 processor, 2GB RAM, an 80GB hard drive, 802.11a/b/g, an 8.6-inch widescreen tablet display, and a fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth, and the ability to go completely wireless, I think the deal is quite good. Moreover, it looks completely study and classy too. (more…)

Don´t get in a school shooting without this bag

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

For the overtly protective or rather ballistic parents who are at their insecurest worst since the happenings at Virginia Tech, these bulletproof bags that you see up there, would be a welcome relief. And considering its launch-timing, I’m sure it’s an instant hit already.
A product of MJ Safety Solutions, it’s a first of its kind, and the good thing is, that its just like the rest, just a tad simpler, lighter and chic looking, which I’m sure you wouldn’t complain about. It’s great as just an added bit of security that won’t leave you wondering why you’re living at all.
