Proporta’s Echo: Look your hottest best with your iPhone

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

resizeimageThose who own the iPhone are usually ones who beleive in looking good all the time. Well, that’s a pretty generalised assumption I guess, but I am sure those who love the phone so much, have a lot more reasons than it being feature-rich, to actually own one. So, in yet another attempt to accesorize the most popular phone, Proporta’s Echo might seem like just any other thing, except that this one would help you keep your makeup mirror at home, and still keep looking picture perfect. Less than a week after Apple offered outsiders a chance to make games and other business applications for the iPhone, the response has been remarkable: Over 100,000 software developers have downloaded an iPhone software kit Apple made publicly available to them on March 6, the Cupertino company announced today.

By adding game and business applications to its phone, the company hopes to broaden the device’s appeal and better compete with the Blackberry. AOL, Electronic Arts, Epocrates,salesforce.com and Sega already have used the kit to create iPhone applications.

苹果的Pod地图要取代GPS

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

A ‘greener’ Apple?!

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

steve_jobs_green_mp_logo.jpg

Apple CEO Steve Jobs just published a surprising open letter about a “greener Apple” on the computer maker’s website. Like some other tech giants, Apple has long been under fire from environmentalist for questionable recycling and production practices in Asia, especially in China; during Macworld conferences in recent years, international environmentalist frequently demonstrated against the company outside the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Talking about green and China: Former vice president Al Gore is here in Silicon Valley tonight talking about the environment and China (!?) at an event organised by Santa Clara based web portal Yahoo. We’ll keep you updated how it went …

IT’S a sign of the maturity of the laptop market that the mobile machines come in numerous classes, sizes and specifications, and at a wide range of prices. To acknowledge this, TechCheck selected an eclectic array of laptop machines to test — a high end ultra-compact from Sony, a non-Windows machine from perennial individualist Apple and an extreme low-end machine from Compaq. This approach doesn’t make it easy to lend itself to compare specs and speeds head to head, but it does help us get an idea of how different sectors of the market are approaching the issue of portability.
