Der US-Computerkonzern Apple hat heute per Pressemitteilung bestätigt, dass das iPhone nun doch ab dem 29. November in Frankreich erhältlich sein wird. Markteinführung des Apple-Multimediatelefons in Frankreich war lange bezweifelt worden, da französische Verbraucherschutzgesetze Exklusivverträge à la Apple/AT&T in den USA nicht zulassen. Exklusiver Telco-Partner von Apple dürfte in Frankreich Orange werden, das Tochterunternehmen der France Telecom; der Preis des iPhones soll 399 Euro betragen.

Virgin Atlantic is set to become more environment friendly with their announcement that they will be producing bio-fuels. And with their production of bio-fuels will follow testing them on jumbo jets. First to be tested is Virgin’s Richard Branson’s very own 747. (more…)

With more than a year after its release, Polar’s PS800 gets an upgrade with the Polar RS800G3. Now, the G3 can mean “with GPS” because this new wristwatch model now comes with a GPS(Global Positioning System) , a technology that is fast becoming a necessity in this day and age.

This model is said to allow athletes to measure distance and speed for sports like kayaking, mountain biking, running, and cycling. Polar has not been too quick to respond to the needs of athletes who do multiple sports but I think this one could be heaven-sent with its heart rate transmitter and GPS features.

The Polar RSG00G3 is water-resistant so sports water enthusiasts can use this as a replacement to their old and trusty diver’s watch. Priced at $499.95, it can be worth it if you are more into features and not the form. Owners of the previous Polar model can buy the G3 GPS sensor for $139.95 separately.

The LCD displays sure have been around for longer than we’ve talked about it, but then again, it’s the preferred thing these days, init? All flast and squarish, its easily unobservable now. Berichten der PC Welt zufolge soll das mit Spannung erwartete Windows-Smartphone SGH-i720 von Samsung deutlich verbessert werden. Das bereits im Februar 2007 auf der 3GSM Messe in Barlecona präsentierte SGH-i720 soll einen überarbeiteten Slider bekommen und neben einem neuen Betriebssystem auch eine verbesserte Kamera integriert bekommen. Okay it’s great to make life as convenient as it could get, but this one’s overdoing it a little bit. What you see up there is apparently a strap-on (no don’t get any ideas) from Samsung that projects a 12-button keypad onto your finger joints, and you type with your thumb. Honestly, I think this makes things tougher and more complicated.
