With more than a year after its release, Polar’s PS800 gets an upgrade with the Polar RS800G3. Now, the G3 can mean “with GPS” because this new wristwatch model now comes with a GPS(Global Positioning System) , a technology that is fast becoming a necessity in this day and age.

This model is said to allow athletes to measure distance and speed for sports like kayaking, mountain biking, running, and cycling. Polar has not been too quick to respond to the needs of athletes who do multiple sports but I think this one could be heaven-sent with its heart rate transmitter and GPS features.

The Polar RSG00G3 is water-resistant so sports water enthusiasts can use this as a replacement to their old and trusty diver’s watch. Priced at $499.95, it can be worth it if you are more into features and not the form. Owners of the previous Polar model can buy the G3 GPS sensor for $139.95 separately.

The LCD displays sure have been around for longer than we’ve talked about it, but then again, it’s the preferred thing these days, init? All flast and squarish, its easily unobservable now. But then how about a round LCD? Sounds beautiful huh? Trust me, it looks great too (look at the picture above).
