Amazon’s Kindle: A revolution in archiving your favourite read-ups

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Of all the technology that we keep hearing about these days, eBookreaders seem to be the things we hear most about. But no technology reaches its peak of recognition untill a major techno-giant launches one of its own right? Maybe that’s what Amazon’s new eBookReader would do to the market segment.

The Kindle, that it is officially known, was announced today. What does it have to offer? 30 hour battery life, direct download with Sprint ( no computer would be required) and weighs just 10.3 ounces. (more…)

Voice-controlled blender: For those lazy types

Monday, November 26th, 2007

For the chauvinistic men in the world for whom women are nothing more than mere maids at home, this might be a good reason not to get married. What we have here is the Voice-controlled blender. Yeah, you heard it right. So going back to the topic of chauvinistic men, if all kitchen appliances became voice-controlled someday, you can imagine men naming them after every woman they’ve slept with, and calling out to them to perform those cooking and cleaning functions that these appliances are meant to do. Alas, for them, it’s not that much of an ideal world yet. (more…)

If you thought that the internet, one of the so-called biggest boons of present times was only going to keep getting better in the long run, think again. As per a recent research by Nemertes Research Group, the internet tubes are likely to get clogged and overburdened by 2010.

Buenísimo, ¿no?

Smart Wardrobe : Perfect for the Closet Queens

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Seriously, the Smart Wardrobe is what I have in mind all these years. My cabinet is overflowing with clothes and I’ve always wanted to have a computerized walk-in-closet. But I don’t live in a mansion so I have to live with just buying cabinets to store my new clothes. The Smart Wardrobe reminds me of Alicia Silverstone’s character Cher’s closet in the now classic movie “Clueless” where she had a remote controlled closet and Princess Mia’s closet in “Princess Diaries”. For my own closet, I thought of taking pictures of my clothes and shoes and upload them to an online album that I could easily browse. (more…)

The Booksnap Scanner: Scanning at 500 pages an hour

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Anyone who’s worked at a startup library knows how painful it can be to scan all those new books everyday and keep track of everything that’s on the shelf. Flipping those thousands of pages are equivalent to more than any of the pennies that you’re paid for the task. Maybe the Booksnap scanner that you see up there would provide you the much needed releif. (more…)

Fujitsu Seimens: Going stylishly LCD can be green too

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

Okay so we all know that solar-run technology and robotics are what’s making news around the world, but little do we expect to see it from manufacturers who just haven’t been into making that kind of stuff before, init? Like for example, Fujitsu Seimens (whose product we are talking about now), hasn’t exactly been into the LCD monitors business, let alone blend that with greentech. So this one’s a first timer both ways. (more…)
