Apple Ceo Steve Jobs: After all, Music subscription model not such as a bad idea?
According to the Financial Times, it seems Apple CEO Steve Jobs drastically changed his mind: As the British paper reports, Apple is starting to like the idea of idea of subscription music services. Remember, Jobs constantly pooh-poohed the idea of renting music. “The subscription model has failed”, Jobs said in interviews in the past. “People want to own their music”, Jobs repeatedly stated during Macworld and WWD keynotes.
However, in 2005, just after web portal Yahoo launched its Music Unlimited service, Business Week reported that Apple execs made the rounds of music execs with some serious questions about a subscription strategy. Nothing came of it at the time. Now the time might be right …
