Golden Age: MacBook Air Matures with Gold and Crystals

NEWS-13238-cafb76712e0a91dd06d33f0182679524The new MacBook Air was designed that thin for a reason. But why do some people keep on adding crystals to them? First, there was the Crystalicing MacBook Air, and now this, the Golden Age.

Perhaps, in a serious attempt to gain recognition in the gadget world, whoever designed this must have lots of gold and crystals to share. The Golden Age is adorned with more then 12,000 Swarovski crytals. Crystals are transparent but what’s making it look gold (or light brownish) is real 24k gold . The design is a traditional Japanese pattern that took a week to finish because the crystals were applied one by one to follow the beautiful pattern.

This golden-crystallized MacBook Air just debuted at CeBIT and will be officially sold at Selfridges, Oxford Street on March 18.
