Apple gambling: iCar not made by Volkswagen?

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

icar_bigAccording to a latest edition of leading German Business magazine ‘Capital’, U.S. computer giant Apple and German car maker Volkswagen (VW) could not agree yet on the production of the highly anticipated iCar. VW CEO Martin Winterkorn and Apple CEO Steve Jobs met last September to discuss options for creating an iCar, a small car made by Volkswagen equipped with hightech gadgets from Apple targeted for younger audiences. Volkswagen confirmed the talks.
As ‘Capital’ now reports, Apple is also talking to other manufacturers regarding the development of the iCar. (more…)

Gold iPod Touch: Not Another Blinged Gadget

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Blinged products are in. Well, not exactly…but there is a market for anything pink, gold, and studded. Every week, a new item is added to the list of blinged up gadgets in the world. Now comes the Gold iPod Touch from the Golden Store. Not that it’s a more surprising news. The gadget girls and the rest of the world are just waiting for a gold version to be released.

No Apple iPod Touch features were added to this model, only it was plated in 24 karat Gold. Obviously, the price for the 8 GB and 16 GB models are far from Steve Job’s suggested retail price. The 8GB is available for 600 Euro, that’s a little less than $900 while the higher model costs 800 Euro($1,180).

Are there people really buying golden gadgets? I have yet to see someone carrying one and attracting thieves.

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Okay so we’ve seen some wonders happening with technology, and tech has all but made life simpler and simpler for the movie-makers. Looks like they’re in for some more good surprises though. What we have here is a unique technology by computer graphics researchers Volker Scholz and Marcus Magnor designed to enable you to swap out textures on clothing. Hold on. It’s not technically as easy as it sounds. The texture replacement technology uses a complex algorithm which encodes the coordinates of textures in a sampled video sequence, (more…)

Apple concepts: Keep your iEye open for things to come

ieye- Apple concept iEyeWhat is the next thing on Apple’s mind; is it a Banana or a Camera? There are a lot of concepts and prototypes for the latter. We would still needed to be updated on the first one, but as soon as Steve Jobs tells me something I will let you know. Just kidding.

It is always said that in the age of corporate cut-throat workaholism, transparency being one of the biggest businesses, Apple’s R&D is still being very secretive. Just keeping our eyes open and a good foresight of the future, there are facts and fiction pertaining to a certain iEye. The Apple’s step into the world of cameras is what it is basically. (more…)

Finally an Awesome Car Phone

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Remember those days when there were car phones in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Aah well, I only saw them in the movies. What would be the best thing to go with your Porsche, than an extension of the Brand itself - Porsche in collaboration with Sagem. Well if a lot of us don’t know the company, Porsche has an Industrial Design team which designs a lot of stuff, but it maintains its exclusivity with its excellence in design. The Porsche Design Mobile, is a clamshell or I should say a flip phone that looks stunning enough to give the iPhone a run for its money. Let me clear any doubts; this is a mobile phone from the makers of Porsche sports cars. (more…)

chinavasion-CVDLM-SWP620-1-Wireless Spy Camera PenOkay so maybe the days of dark sunglasses and Wrigley’s chewing gums as spy cams are as much a joke, as shooting theives with a bow and arrow is, but then maybe the security guys won’t find the newest invention as funny. One because, they don’t know about it yet, and second, when they do know, they’ll be wondering why they hadn’t been expecting this. This thing will play the big daddy game for you: A pen with a wireless mini spy camera that also comes with a solar charger for effortless charging and also has an MP4/Wireless receiver which will help you with all the recording.
