Smart Wardrobe : Perfect for the Closet Queens
Seriously, the Smart Wardrobe is what I have in mind all these years. My cabinet is overflowing with clothes and I’ve always wanted to have a computerized walk-in-closet. But I don’t live in a mansion so I have to live with just buying cabinets to store my new clothes. The Smart Wardrobe reminds me of Alicia Silverstone’s character Cher’s closet in the now classic movie “Clueless” where she had a remote controlled closet and Princess Mia’s closet in “Princess Diaries”. For my own closet, I thought of taking pictures of my clothes and shoes and upload them to an online album that I could easily browse. So when I need to dress up, I’d just open the site and choose. I already had it planned : separate albums per color, style, or occasion. Ha! Glad to have not done it because I know it would take me weeks to finish that mini-project.
So when I saw the Smart Wardrobe, my heart skipped a beat. Perfect! It’s the first in wardrobe technology that comes with electronic hangers with ID,allows wireless monitoring and data downloads. It features a touch screen outside the closet. Professor Thomas, Director of the Wearable Computer Laboratory that developed the Smart Wardrobe, explains that the computer connected to the hangers can identify which hanger has dress #10, and monitors when and where it was last worn. I’m the type who does not like wearing the same outfit twice in a particular place so I guess this would help me monitor my wardrobe. Now, that’s what you call smart dressing.
