The Booksnap Scanner: Scanning at 500 pages an hour
Anyone who’s worked at a startup library knows how painful it can be to scan all those new books everyday and keep track of everything that’s on the shelf. Flipping those thousands of pages are equivalent to more than any of the pennies that you’re paid for the task. Maybe the Booksnap scanner that you see up there would provide you the much needed releif.
This gadget is being marketed as the first consumer item available with the fastest scanning performance, at 500 pages per hour. Yeah you heard it right, 500 pages. Sure, had it not had that feature, it would be just another fancy looking one catering to the masses, but what sets this one apart, from its price of course ($1,500) is its utility.
It doesn’t include the actual scanning, picture-taking device, so you’ll need to hook up a couple of cameras and stuff for it, but then again if you got that kind of budget for a scanner, then this additional expense shouldn’t quite matter to you, init? The Booksnap is compatible with the Canon Powershot G7, Canon Powershot A640, Canon Powershot A620, Canon Powershot S80, and the Canon Powershot S3 IS. So make sure you have one of these to get started. But if it’s for personal use, I don’t tell to tell you what a waste it is.
