MIT’s Exoskeleton: Taking some burdens off your back

If you are one of the constant travelers like me who is always on the go, then nobody understands the woes of heavy backpacks more than you and me, isn’t it? The good news is that if the guys at MIT have their way, we would be rid of that problem really soon.

Incidentally, what you see up there is the Exoskeleton, which apparently helps you ease the load of your backpack. As per claims, it eases almost 80 per cent of the weight by taking it all the way to the floor through the skeletal structure tied to your legs. Sure it sounds cool, but it’s probably going to make it a tad more difficult to walk with all that metal on you. It is said to increase your oxygen burn by almost 10 per cent.

Well, the Exoskeleton is reasonably new yet, so we must give it some time before it gets perfect. Untill then, we are at least happy to know such a thing might be available in the future, right?
