TIVOistas now can get Amazon movies on their TV-sets: But who cares?
According to the Wall Street Journal’s today issue, users of TiVo Inc.’s digital video recording service will be able to order movies from Amazon.com Inc. directly from their television sets starting today. The story further reads: “The two companies partnered in March to deliver Amazon’s Unbox download service to TiVo machines, but the feature required customers to place their orders on a computer through Amazon’s Web site.” Well, so far so good. The big question is just: Who cares? I am 100% sure, that Tivo is a dying service and technology - and so are DVR’s in general.
