LG Mobile Phones: YouTubing the world’s greatest communication device
Sure, the competition is getting trickier each day, what with mobile phone providers at their rival best in outdoing each other, especially with Apple’s iPhone having set the stage afire! But while iPhone is still basking in its initial weeks of success, LG might be the next in line to gather all the hype. It’s already tied up with the king of all search engines, Google, for its new LG ETA, and now is all set to conquer another favorite among internet junkies, YouTube (steadfast videos, quick upload and download boomerang). Here is a copy of the press release. Whoever in the mobile phones industry said, “We just don’t know what our consumers want” ought to learn a lesson or two from these guys. I mean, it might seem so simple to imagine what might really sell, but the fact is that LG thought about it first, and while the others are working on conceptualizing it, LG is all set to hit the roads. Personally, I’ve never been too fond of LG phones, with them being so clanky and steely! But who knows, with Google and YouTube on it, I might jump off the iPhone line and wait for the LG ETA (after checking out the Nokia N99 of course). Hope it survives all the technological challenges and may common sense survive and it not get into a tussle for making more services available than the iPhone. Lesser is better and uncomplicated, coz at least it sets expectations straight, which the iPhone very successfully failed to do. (NiRa)
